We're Back

Princess Jewel

Hi Everyone,

We are back from our P & O Cruise to Vanuatu, Unfortunately I got sea sick for the first 2 days! Yes the big ships do move around alot!

That is a photo of the water splashing out of the pool - there is nobody in the pool! That's how rocky the ship was!

We enjoyed all the shows - there was one every night. We played Bingo most days - that was actually alot of fun, the guy calling the numbers really got you all involved.

There were quiz nights and live music, so you never really got a chance to get bored. Then there was the food - WOW full on, yes we put on weight. There was buffet and restuarants to choose from cafe's and lots of Bars as well - Yes the Bundy was free flowing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We made some new friends and have exchanged e-mails so we can keep in touch.

We went on some Island tours as well. That was a real eye opener, we have never been out of the country before so seeing how the people of Vanuatu live was really an experience to remember.

Huts in Wala

We spent a few days in Sydney before we went on the cruise, we went to the Sydney Supershow - Caravan Show. There was alot to see there. Dave also climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Which he enjoyed.

When we returned to Sydney after the Cruise we went up in the Sydney Tower - that was great, the view was magnificent.

Now it is all over and Dave is back at work. We still haven't sold the house, but we don't really want to rent it out again so we are keeping it on the market a while longer.

Now for some news that we have been keeping quiet for a while, we are getting a new Caravan built by Spinifex Caravans in Brisbane!!!!!!!! It will be ready next month, we are very excited about that. It will be an Off Road van 19ft 6 Internal with a full Ensuite across the back of the van. With all the bells and whistles:)

We have sold the Kedron caravan - alot easier than selling the house!

As we have decided that we much prefer living in a Caravan to a house we thought we would upgrade. There was nothing wrong with the other van but we just wanted a bit more space and a better design for living in it fulltime. We will put some pictures on here when it is built.

Dave's boss has asked him to stay on at Kambalda for a while longer, so he is still doing fly in fly out of Perth. 2 weeks on 1 week off. I am just going to be assessing everything in our house to see what we actually want to keep, what goes in to storage and what we sell - huge decisions :)

I am getting a headache thinking about it!

Well that's it for now,

I will keep you informed about the caravan.

Bye for now

Happy Travels.

Belated Update

Hi all,

Sorry it has taken so long to update our blog but life has been pretty hectic.

Firstly about our trip to the Gold Coast, we had a wonderful time. It was a real fun filled week. Daracula's was definately a highlight for us, if any of you get the chance to go there - then do it you will love it. we also went to: Dreamworld, Seaworld, Movieworld as well as the Outback Spectacular. on top of this we had friends visit us. Peter & Glynis came down from Brisbane and Greg & Fran came up from Bangalow. So as you can see we fitted a hell of a lot into our week.

Then it was back to Darwin to pack up the van, which we did in 2 days! We left Darwin on friday November 28th only traveling to Katherine the first day as we were right out of practice of setting up and packing up because we had been set up in Darwin for 18 months.

Then onto Kunnanurra, fitzroy crossing, Eighty Mile Beach - which was absolutely beautiful. we even got to watch turtles coming up to the beach to lay their eggs:)

Then down to Newman, Dalwallinu and finally Perth. 7 Days to get from Darwin to Perth towing a caravan not bad hey!

We stayed in Perth for 2 days as we had to get a new battery for the car and Dave had to go to the HWE office to get some info on his new position. So then it was onto Mandurah on Friday, we set up at the Top Tourist caravan park. On Saturday we caught up with our 2 daughters Bec and Teigan and on Sunday I drove Dave to the airport to start his new job - it all happened so fast!

The next week the tenants moved out of our house - what a mess! I spent the next 2 weeks cleaning, puttying, painting organising new carpets and blinds as well as trying to get the garden back to life. The sprinkler system had been turned off and the lawn was dead!

I just got it all organised and it was Christmas. I got our furniture out of storage only to find we got something extra - Termites! Dont get me started on that subject we are still waiting to hear from the company about compensation!

Dave flew back on the 23rd December, Bec had invited us around to her place for Christmas lunch - it was beautiful, a huge turkey and heaps of salads. She did a wonderful job.

I had a very quiet New Year's, just stayed home and watched movies - Dave had already returned to work.

We put the house on the market at the end of January, but there has been no interest in it whatsoever so it looks like we will be renting it out again.

February, we had our tickets for AC/DC's Brisbane concert - we brought them while in Darwin.
But as Dave had changed jobs he couldn't get time off. It was Bec's 23rd Birthday the day before the concert so I asked her if she would like to come - of course the answer was yes! We had the best time, it was the best concert we had ever been to! Then we spent the next 4 days on the gold Coast - we had a ball, the weather was lousy though rain and wind, we even had a Tsunami warning!

Dave flew back to Perth the same day we did for his week off, as it turns out AC/DC were playing in Perth that weekend & we heard on the radio that they were releasing some more tickets. We were very lucky and ended up with 2 tickets so Dave got to see them & I got to go see them twice, though I have to admit the Brisbane concert was better.

Dave has only got 1 more swing left before he finishes up at Kalgoorlie/Kambalda and then we will be flying to Sydney for a few days before catching our Cruise:) 11 Nights To Vanuatu, we can't wait for that. We have never been on a cruise before or out of the country.

We are unsure what we will be doing after we come back from the cruise - but that is half the fun:) We will decide when we get back!

Well I have filled you all in on what we are up too. I will try not to wait so long next time.
