Well we had our weekend away. We left Friday afternoon about 3.30pm and got to Esperance about 6.30. We stayed there the night so that we could head off fresh Saturday morning.
We got a few groceries and some bait before heading off to Cape Arid National Park. For those of you that haven't been there it is East on Fisheries Road past Condingup. There is a great camping ground there with BBQ's and toilets. There was a Caravan just setting up when we got there. We didn't take our van so we didn't stay here - our aim was to fish for the day!
But that wasn't to be - not even a bite! There was a seal happily swimming around, so we figured he had scared them all off. But it was a nice afternoon.
We headed back to Orleans Bay Caravan Park about 2 and checked in.

We could only get a Donga without an ensuite, but it was ok, the amenities we very clean and plenty of hot water.
The Cabins were all full and there were campers and caravans - pretty popular spot!
We asked the manager about fishing spots and he recommended Nares Beach, a couple of k's up the road. So it was back to the Donga for a few Bundy's :) Then we walked down to the beach for a look - very nice
Orleans Bay - Caravan Park
We headed off Sunday Morning around 7.30am, we walked over to the rocks to fish of them. The wind was pretty cold but we were rugged up!
Would you believe the fish started biting straight away! I caught the first one!
Then Dave
As you can see they weren't very big, but to us that didn't matter - we were catching fish!!!!! Of course we put them all back. We ended up catching about 15 - a few different kinds - don't really know what they were actually - so if anyone wants to help out with identifying them please place a comment.
We left Monday morning and after some grocery shopping in Esperance we headed back to Kambalda.
We took some photo's of some salt lakes on the way - they are so white!
Next weekend we are going to Perth for the 4WD & Camping Show. We will be there on Sunday wearing Spinifex shirts and handing out information on Spinifex Caravans, so if any of you are there come up and say Hi !
Well that's it for now
