Mt Isa To Charters Towers

Hi Everyone,

Well we have a lovely couple of days in Mt Isa. It was great to catch up with Lyall & Trish.

We left Sunday Morning - Mother’s Day & headed off to Richmond., Part of the Dinosaur Triangle Where this fellow hangs out:

Kronosaurus
where we stopped for the night at the town caravan park - it was a lovely little park, we had a drive through powered site with shade & Grass J

Plus we had good internet reception - MT Isa was dreadful!

We set up & enjoyed a few Bundy’s:

Cheers

A Great Mother's Day!

before walking up the street to the Mud Hut Pub for a wonderful meal of Grilled Barramundi - very nice!

We also won $10 on the pokies! So a great mother’s day.

On Monday we headed off to Charters Towers to catch up with our middle Daughter Shantelle.
We went through Hughenden another part of the dinosaur triangle & saw this fellow:

We checked into the Top Tourist Park - another very nice park, & set up.

We did all our washing before Shantelle came over after work.

We enjoyed a lovely few hours catching up & then we organised to go out to dinner at the Enterprise Hotel - great meals! We lived in Charters Towers for 2 years so we know the place pretty well.

.

We had a wonderful meal together & then it was back to the van to retire for the night.

The next day Shantelle had to work so we booked ourselves into a Tour at the Texas Longhorn Wagon & Safari Tours: www.texaslonghorn.com.au
We didn't get to see any Texas Longhorns while in Texas - so this certainly made up for it.
We were the only 2 people there that morning & we cetainly got a personlised tour, Michael the owner drove us around in his Polaris 4 wheeler:

We were shown all the Longhorns including JR - the world record holder for the longest horns:

JR

There were Buffalo too:
This is Elton - Because of the hair!

Michael has the Magic Touch!

Other things there:

Assistant tour guide!

Deer

wagons

They also have accomodation:

We had the best morning there & would thoroughly recommend it to any fellow bloggers if you are in the neighborhood.

Hosts: Lynda & Michael Bethel

We had to drag ourselves away!
Well after our huge morning it had run into lunchtime so we caught up with our good friends Karen & Chris for lunch - at the Enterprise of course :)
Another great meal & good company!
Then it was back to the van for a rest!

We invited Shantelle over for Dinner - Pizza on the Baby Q -Yum:

Cooked to perfection!

The Chef At Work!

Great Pizza!

Another great night.
Well that was our time in Charters, it was wonderful to see Shantelle again, it is very hard when you live on opposite sides of the country.
Cheers to everyone,
Shell
