Viva Las Vegas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Hello Everyone,

Well we have had a very full 4 days in Vegas, and we have enjoyed every minute of it.
We arrived by coach at about 1pm on Thursday after a 4 1/2 hr drive from Anaheim. We seen some great scenery on the way, it was amazing how quick the landscape changed.

Photo's taken from the coach

We checked into our Motel - The Bellagio!

This check in queue was short.
We went up to our lovely room over looking the famous Fountains - WOW! We are on the 26th floor, check out our view:

The Paris Hotel across the road

The Fountains

The water display is just amazing - it goes off hourly

After settling in we decided to go for a walk and have a look around - WOW again the buildings are amazing!

The Bellagio

We had booked into a show at 9pm so after a quick look around we headed back to the room for a power nap - not used to late nights!
We had a lovely late dinner at Planet Hollywood and headed off to the show.

This was taken while we had dinner
This is the Mall at Planet Hollywood

It is all inside - that is not the sky, it is a painted ceiling!

Amazing isn't it - you forget that you are inside!

The show was called VEGAS the Show. It was fantastic, it gave you the history of Vegas over the last 20 years. So we had songs from The Rat Pack - Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Sammy Davis Jr, through to Elvis, Tina Turner, Sonny & Cher,Tom Jones, Etc. Absolutely amazing - even had Can Can girls and as we were sitting in the 3rd row Dave loved that!
After the show we decided to hit the Casino's ( we only play the slot machines) first we went to Planet Hollywood - No Luck so we came back to the Bellagio and found a Slot Machine that at least let us have a win occasionally, we played it for hours on $10, then we realised it was after 1 am! Very shocked we headed off to bed.
Friday we just potted around the shops  - there is so much to see here! The are Limo's everywhere, check this one out - certainly falls into the category of Big American stuff!

The Mammoth Limo!

Only in America!

We had a Neon Lights Tour booked for 5.50pm, this is a must do, we had great commentary from an 86yr old gentleman that knew heaps!
Here are a few photos:

Our last stop on our tour was Freemont St - it is in Old Vegas, but boy do they know how to Party! the whole st is alive - and some of the sights you see - eye openers!

While there we got our photo's taken at Binions Casino with 1 Million Dollars cash:

Shame we couldn't keep this!

We also went across to the Golden Nugget and took a photo of the Hand of Faith - the largest nugget ever found - and it's an Aussie nugget!

It was a wonderful tour, thoroughly recommend it - if you get to Vegas!
When we got back we played the slots for awhile and then off to bed - after midnight again! Time just flys here!
On Saturday we picked up our hire car and Dave drove us around Vegas a bit to get used to the car and driving on the wrong side! He did very well - I don't think I am ready to try yet - wait til we are on quieter roads!
We called into a Walmart to have a look - another WOW! They sell everything, Dave was amazed about these items:

Guns anyone!
Saturday night we decided to try and get to bed early - But it was still about 11.30! But look who we bumped into on the way back to the hotel:

Those of you who have seen the movie Hangover will know who these guys are meant to be!

We had to get up at 6am on Sunday as we had a Helicopter Tour Booked for the Grand Canyon!!!!!
We got picked up by Limo at 7am and taken to the Helicopter, we had 6 passengers on board and Dave & I were in the front with the Pilot - I was a bit nervous! This was definitely the highlight of our Vegas Trip - WOW,WOW,WOW, we have never been in a helicopter before and were totally blown away by the experience. It is amazing how much you can see, here are some photo's:

New Bridge over Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam

The Grand Canyon, As we were in the front of the Helicopter the sun was shining straight in so the photo's are a bit too bright but still good :)

On the way back to Vegas we sat in the back, so our photo's were limited.

Heading back into Vegas

Had to get this shot!
Well tonight is our last night here :(
But of course we won't be staying in - We are going to a show - The Beatles, so that should be good and out to dinner afterwards. We are heading off tomorrow morning towards Flagstaff Arizona, we are booked there for the night. On the way we are going to call into the West rim Canyon Walk but that will be on our next post.

We hope you are all well and enjoying our posts :)

Cheers for now Dave & Shell
