Australia Zoo

We left Lawnton on Monday morning & drove up the road to Aspley & checked into the Big 4.

On Tuesday we decided to visit Australia Zoo, we had been there many years ago - (the actual day that Steve Irwin was surprised halfway through his show by Mike Munroe to present him with "This is your Life") It was great to be there for that!
We thoroughly enjoyed it back then & wondered if it had changed much.

Well it is better than ever, still the only Zoo that Dave & I have been to that you don't feel sorry for the Animals. They are all very healthy looking with huge enclosures - very natural!
Well we were certainly not disappointed, it is even better.

Isn't he beautiful

Then it was time for the show at the Crocoseum:
Check out how high he is!

The Photo of the Day!
But wait there is even more:

A Cheetah - having an icy pole!

We had a great day & the weather was perfect.
On Friday we went into the city & had lunch with fellow "Bloggers" Kerry & Mike, it was really nice to catch up with them.

Dave flew back to Kalgoorlie today & I will stay in Brissy with the Van until he comes back & the we will be heading off to Adelaide.
Bye for now,
Cheers Shell

  1. Hey Shell and Dave

Must have a look at Australia Zoo when we go through there, when ever. We spent 8 months up the road last year and never got there.

How are those two...Mike & Kerry. Would have loved to be there for the get together...lots of fun, knowing Mike.

We are in Cairns at the moment and will be here for a couple of weeks before moving south.

    May catch ya in Adelaide.

    Talk again sooooon.

    Cheers & beers

    Paul & Wendy

  2. Hey Guys, good to hear from you, yes it was good to catch up with Kerry & Mike, they are heading off again soon.
Australia Zoo is amazing - you will both love it.
Shell - No Bundies for a little while now - have to lose our American weight :)

  3. Welcome back to Oz. Never been to Australia Zoo but after your comments perhaps we can put it on our list the next time we are in Qld. Sigh! who knows when that will be. Cheers

  4. Hi Frank,
Thankyou, & yes Australia Zoo is certainly worth the visit,
We leave Brisbane on Wednesday & will be based in Adelaide for a while.
    Cheers Shell
